HID (High-intensity discharge) headlamps

- they are called as xenons due to atmosphere in glass bulb.
- In the glass bulb, there is formed an arc light, which is formed through evaporation of metal salts in arc chamber, the xenon atmosphere helps to quicker achievemnt of maximal light intensity in time.
- light from HID bulbs has a bluish light in comparison to bulbs with wolfram filaments
- HID bulbs are of high voltage, so they require a ballast, which controls the energy flow to bulb
